We are located in Gustavus, AK just 50 miles due west of the state capitol, Juneau. With Glacier Bay National Park as a backdrop and Icy Straits for your fishing grounds, you are in for a real treat. To compliment the superb fishing and the beautiful scenery, is the over abundance of wildlife in the area. You can see Humpback whales, sea lions, killer whales, sea otters, eagles, porpoise, puffins, and even bears walking along the shores in search of food.
Whether you are relaxing on deck and enjoying the view, watching the passing whales, or reeling in a fish of a lifetime, you will agree there is never a dull moment with Black Rock Charters.
According to a recent survey done annually by the Alaska Dept. of Fish & Game, Gustavus has the second best halibut fishing in the state of Alaska. Only falling second place to a commercial fleet of fisherman off the coast of the Aleutian chain. So, with the spectacular halibut fishing, phenomenal runs of salmon, amazing wildlife, an experienced crew of more than 15 years, and a view beyond belief, “What are you waiting for”? What will you catch?

Usually you will catch plenty of fish in 2-3 days to take home with you it is customary for you to take between 1 or 2 boxes of fish. All the fish is vacuum packed and frozen for the trip home. Additional boxes incur a shipment fee with the airlines.

Conservation!

We encourage and participate in catch and release sport fishing of Salmon and especially large Halibut. Primarily when fishing is exceptionally good - In the Spirit of Conservation!
